WYW is the debut album from Converge’s Jacob Bannon’s side project, Wear Your Wounds. I don’t know why I expected it to be similar to Converge, but I did, and it’s not. Instead, it’s ambient, instrumental post-rock. There are some sparse vocals, but they are drowned under layers of effects, making them sound distant and ethereal, adding to the ambient feel.

If you know me, you might know that I’m not a huge fan of ambient music, with a few significant exceptions (or many exceptions if you consider classical music to be ambient), such as The Besnard Lakes. I am willing to say that this is an ambient album I could possibly listen to again.
